Olivia Baker

Olivia Baker is from Soddy Daisy, TN and is currently earning her Bachelors in Music Education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a trombonist with the UT Trombone Choir, concert ensembles, and recently retired from the Pride of the Southland marching band. She also participates in extracurricular ensembles such as the UTK Steel Band Ensemble. 

As a performer outside of school, Olivia marched baritone with Spirit of Atlanta in ’21 and euphonium with the Mandarins this past ‘22 season. She is also familiar with WGI by being a member of the visual line with Audiotheater in ‘20 and spinning two seasons with Reverie A and Open during the ‘21 and ‘22 seasons. Olivia has earned awards such as “Rookie of the Year” from both Spirit of Atlanta and Reverie as well as “Most Outstanding Flag.” 

Olivia is currently on staff with Hardin Valley Academy. She has gotten the honor to work with HVA’s WGI Finalist indoor winds group and assist with the program’s preparation for Bands of America. This will be her first season with Crossmen’s staff and she is looking forward to growing as an educator while returning to the world of Drum Corps. 

Olivia is thankful for her mentors and educators who have supported her during her music education journey including, but not limited to: Joshua Light, Dr. Alex Van Duuren, Dr. Micheal Stewart, Dr. Fuller Lyon, Chris Johnston, Corey Hawkins, and Joseph Hayes.
