Frank Chapple

Percussion Caption Manager

Frank Chapple is Percussion Caption Manager for The Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Currently, he is also the Director of Percussion/Marching Band Director at Ryan High School in Denton, Texas. He started teaching public school in 1997 and has worked on staff at Lewisville High School, Flower Mound High School, Grapevine High School, Keller High School and Ryan High School. During this time his programs have been invited to perform at The Midwest Clinic in Chicago and at TMEA as the State Honor Band of Texas. In marching band , he has been a Finalist at BOA Grand Nationals, multi-time UIL Area winner, perennial finalist band at the BOA Super Regional in San Antonio and UIL 6A State Marching Band Finalist finishing in the top 5. He has also received the prestigious Sudler Cup and Sudler Shield awards. 

Frank has been an educator within the Drum Corps International community since 1994. In that time, he taught with The Phantom Regiment (including their 1996 World Championship), The Glassmen, The Crossmen, Carolina Crown and The Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. 

In 2015, Mr. Chapple released his fundamentals-based percussion curriculum: The Packet and has been an invited clinician at the 2015 Texas Bandmasters Association Convention, 2016 Midwest Clinic, 2017 Oklahoma Bandmasters Association Convention, 2017 Texas MEA Convention, 2018 Texas MEA Convention, 2019 Indiana MEA Convention and 2019 Colorado MEA Convention. 

Frank Chapple graduated Cum Laude from Northern Illinois University and is a member of TBA, TMEA, PAS, NAfME and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is sponsored by the Vic Firth Company, Ludwig-Musser Percussion, Conn-Selmer, Inc., Remo Inc. and Zildjian. He is a Conn-Selmer Educator and is the president and founder of FECIV Publications. He recently started a nonprofit organization, The Hand-To-Hand Project, that provides practice pads to programs and students in need.
