Shelby Huffman

Shelby Huffman is a dedicated software engineer and passionate music educator with a career that bridges advanced technology and the world of competitive marching percussion. Based in Oklahoma City, Shelby expertly balances his role as a technical lead at Boeing, his dedication to the marching arts, and his role as a father.

With an impressive background as a front ensemble member, Shelby has performed with world-class groups including Gateway Indoor, Monarch, The Crossmen, The Mandarins, and The Cavaliers, along with playing drumline at the University of Oklahoma. His performance experience has naturally translated into teaching: he has served as Front Ensemble Tech for Resistance Indoor since 2020 and more recently with The Crossmen in 2023 and Zephyrus. As the Front Ensemble Director for Southmoore High School since 2016 and, most recently, Oklahoma Baptist University, Shelby dedicates himself to shaping the next generation of musicians. He also offers master classes at numerous Oklahoma high schools, such as Choctaw, Mustang, Union, Edmond Memorial, and Catoosa.

On the technical side, Shelby holds dual degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma and is working toward a Master’s in Computer Science at Georgia Tech, specializing in Robotics and Computational Perception. His skills blend innovation and artistry, allowing him to lead at Boeing and inspire in the music community.
