Ryan Hurford
Front - Instructor

Ryan Hurford is a percussionist in the North Texas area. He is currently in his last year at
University of North Texas, majoring in Music Education with a minor in Music Theory. While
being at school he has played in numerous ensembles, most notably Wind Symphony, under
Eugene Corporon, Symphony Orchestra, under David Itkin, performing with the ensemble at
TMEA in 2025, and many chamber and world percussion groups. Ryan has studied and learned
from Mark Ford, Dave Hall, Paul Rennick, Sandi Rennick, Lauren Teel, Gideon Alorwoyie, Ed
Smith, Stockton Helbing, and Poovalur Sriji. His drum corps experience includes Troopers 2022,
on vibraphone and Troopers 2024 center marimba. Recently, he competed in the 2025 Great
Plains International Marimba Competition Duo category, performing with Sebastian Havner, and
was awarded 3rd place. While finishing up school Ryan teaches high school marching band and
teaches lessons in the DFW area.
