Russell Wiley

Russell Wiley is a music educator, arranger and visual designer from Waco, Texas. Russell currently works as an assistant band director and percussion specialist at Robinson ISD in Robinson, Texas.


Russell grew up in southern Mississippi where he was first introduced to drum corps where he marched with the hornlines of Southwind and later, the Phantom Regiment. After aging out, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a member of The Commandant’s Own US Marine Drum & Bugle Corps. During his time in the Marines, Russell served as lead soprano bugler, drill writer, visual tech and visual caption head.


After leaving the Marines, Russell earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music from Texas A&M University - Central Texas under the tutelage of Mr. Norm Bergeron. During this time, Russell worked as a member of the instructional staff of various drum corps each summer, most recently as the Deputy Director for the Guardians Drum & Bugle Corps.


Russell resides in Waco, Texas with his wife Sara and his children Jacob, Maddie, Alice, Lottie and Amelia.
