Michael Segura

Michael Segura is a percussion specialist with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Brownsville. He is currently the Director of Percussion at Gladys Porter Early College High School in Brownsville, TX.

Michael’s performer experience includes three years with Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps where he served as section leader in his last two seasons. He also competed in the DCI Individual and Ensemble competition where he won 1st place in the Open Class Bass Drum Ensemble category in 2011. Michael later joined the staff at Genesis Drum and Bugle corps for the 2021 & 2022 seasons.

He currently resides in Brownsville, TX where he works as a percussion arranger and sound designer for local schools and has written his first self-published book “Sideways Drumming: A resource for Educator and Students”
