Mark Thurston

Mark Thurston’s career in the marching arts spans more than four decades, beginning with the Crossmen snare line from 1979–1982. He later shaped the corps’ identity as percussion arranger in 1983 and as percussion caption head and arranger from 1984– 1996. Mark brought his expertise to the Reading Buccaneers as ensemble coordinator from 2012–2015 and 2018–2019 and has proudly served as WGI’s Director of Percussion since 1999, guiding the evolution of the indoor percussion activity. His contributions have earned him induction into the Crossmen, Reading Buccaneers, WGI Sport of the Arts, and World Drum Corps Halls of Fame.
