Kurt Swisher

Originally from Tyler, Texas, Kurt Swisher is a music educator based in Texas. He

received his undergraduate degree in music education at Stephen F. Austin State

University in Nacogdoches, Texas, studying under Dr. Brad Meyer and Dr. Ben

Tomlinson.

Kurt has performed with notable marching percussion ensembles in the DCI and WGI

circuits, including Tyler Junior College Indoor Percussion, Genesis Drum & Bugle

Corps, The Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps, and Pulse Indoor Percussion.

Furthermore, he has had the opportunity to teach with Vigilantes Indoor Percussion

from 2022-2025 and Guardians Drum & Bugle Corps in 2024.

Kurt currently resides in Stephenville, TX where he is the percussion director for

Stephenville ISD. He is excited to be joining the Crossmen Percussion Staff for the

2026 season.
