Kara Crockerham

Kara Cockerham is the Colorguard Director for Joshua ISD and is currently in her tenth year with the district. A proud graduate of Joshua High School, she loves having the opportunity to continue growing the very program where she began her colorguard journey in 2006.

After graduating in 2012, Kara continued performing with Black Gold Independent World, where she was a member during the 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017 winter seasons. She later joined the Black Gold staff for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Kara also performed with The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps during the 2014 DCI season. Before returning to her hometown district, she spent several years directing and working as a technician for multiple programs across the DFW metroplex, gaining a wide range of teaching and performance experience.

Today, Kara is thrilled to rejoin the DCI community and contribute to the activity once again. Her passion for the artistry, and education of colorguard continues to drive her work. She looks forward to fostering a program where students feel empowered, challenged, and proud of what they create—both on and off the field.
