Haley Smith
Mello Instructor

Haley Smith is an active teacher and performer in the West Virginia and Virginia areas. She has experience in wind ensembles, orchestras, chamber ensembles, the marching arts, solo playing, and world music ensembles.
Haley began her undergraduate career at West Virginia University in 2018 where she studied with Professor Jonas Thoms. Here she was awarded music and academic scholarships. She graduated with her BA in Music as well as a minor in World Music. She also spent three years as a member of the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps (2020-2022) with her last season serving as the mellophone section leader.
Currently, Haley has been awarded a WVU Music Education Graduate Assistantship. Here she will be studying with Dr. Jason Gossett, Dr. Angela Munroe, and Dr. Albert Houde. She will be working towards getting her masters degree in Music Education with a focus on Horn Performance. She also is the Visual Coordinator and Brass Clinician for Morgantown High School.
