Grant Underwood

Grant Underwood is an artist, designer, and program coordinator based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For more than two decades, he has been active in the marching arts as a performer, technician, designer, consultant, and program coordinator, working with competitive ensembles across the country.

Grant's aesthetic work has been featured by numerous State and National Championship programs and dozens of BOA Grand Nationals Finalists, Super Regional Finalists, and Regional Finalists. His WGI credits include Finalists in A, Open, and World Class Color Guard; Open and World Class Percussion; and A, Open, and World Class Winds.

Grant's work is known for bold, literal choices and immediately recognizable visual identities. His approach favors clarity over ambiguity, using color, costume, props, and environment to establish a production's world with conviction. Rather than asking an audience to search for the idea, his designs put it directly in front of them.
