Emilio Monreal
Quad Instructor

Emilio Monreal currently serves as the Director of Percussion at Lone Star High School in
Frisco, Texas. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Texas A&M University–
Corpus Christi and a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from Michigan State University,
where he studied under Professor Gwendolyn Dease and Dr. Jon Weber. While at MSU, Emilio
performed with the renowned Michigan State University Wind Symphony.
Emilio began his marching career in 2009 as a member of the quad line with Mystikal Drum and
Bugle Corps. He went on to perform with Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps during their founding
season in 2010 and aged out with the Sacramento Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps in 2011.
An active performer and educator, Emilio is proud to be an Innovative Percussion artist.
Originally from Texas, Emilio continues to share his passion for percussion education across the
state. Outside of teaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife Nicole, their dogs Remy and
Jasper, and their bird Luci.
