Dr. Spencer Jones

Dr. Spencer Jones is the Percussion Director for the Petal School District in Petal Mississippi. He teaches 6-12 grade percussion each day and works with the marching band, concert ensembles, Percussion Ensemble, and the A class Petal Indoor Percussion Theatre. Prior to his time with Crossmen, Dr. Jones worked with the Guardians DBC and Louisiana Stars DBC percussion staff. His marching background includes being a member of Louisiana Stars DBC in 2015. Dr. Jones professional playing experience includes performing with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, and the New Orleans Ballet. He completed his Bachelors in Music Education from Northwestern State University with the late Ken Greene and Dr. Oliver Molina. His Masters Degree is in Percussion Performance from Stephen F. Austin State

University with Dr. Brad Meyer and Dr. Ben Tomlinson. His final degree is a Doctor of Musical Arts from Louisiana State University with Dr. Brett Dietz, Shawn Galvin, and Stanton Moore. Dr. Jones is a Sabian Cymbals Artist.
