Connor Vaughn

Connor Vaughn currently serves as the Head Band Director at Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to joining Reagan, Mr. Vaughn served as the Head Band Director at McKinney North High School, where he led a comprehensive band program that included three concert bands, two jazz ensembles, color guard, and marching band. Under his leadership, the McKinney North Marching Band earned multiple appearances at the UIL State Marching Contest and advanced to the State Finals for the first time in program history in 2024. The McKinney North Jazz Ensemble also became the first ensemble from McKinney ISD selected to participate in the prestigious Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival. Mr. Vaughn began his teaching career in Indianapolis, Indiana, at Creston Middle School before serving as the Director of Bands and Performing Arts Director at Lawrence North High School. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Butler University, where he was a recipient of the Edgar J. Axom Future Music Educator Award. Mr. Vaughn has extensive experience in Drum Corps International as both a performer and educator. He performed on trumpet with Carolina Crown and has served on the brass staffs of the Crossmen (16-18, current), Mandarins (19), The Cadets (21-23), and the Cavaliers (24). He currently serves as Brass Caption Manager and Ensemble Coordinator for the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps. Outside of Drum Corps, Connor serves as a Program Coordinator, and Artistic and Music designer for High School Bands and Winterguards.
