Colin Slavin
Cymbals Instructor

Colin Slavin is an accomplished Cymbal educator from Pensacola, Florida, with a wealth of
experience both as a performer and instructor in the Drum Corps and Indoor percussion
activities. Colin has worked with a wide range of percussion programs at the local, regional, and
national levels, contributing to the development of many talented performers.
As a performer, Colin was a member of the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps Cymbal
Line and the Atlanta Quest Independent Cymbal Line.
He has served as a cymbal instructor with several Drum Corps and WGI Independent
ensembles, including the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps, Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps,
Atlanta Quest Independent, and Civitas Independent.
Colin has also been instrumental in mentoring young cymbal players at the scholastic level. He
has taught multiple WGI Percussion Scholastic Open Finalist High School ensembles, including
Pace High School and Escambia High School.
In addition to his work with high school ensembles, Colin has also shared his expertise with
collegiate marching cymbal lines at the University of Alabama and the University of South
Alabama.
Colin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in K-12 Music Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Music
Performance from the University of West Florida.
Colin currently is a High School Music Teacher in Pensacola Florida.
