André Williams

André Williams is an Indianapolis-based movement artist, choreographer, educator, and director whose work spans contemporary dance, theatre, pageantry, and film. He is the Founder and Creative Director of Relevations Dance Theatre, an interdisciplinary organization dedicated to inspiring, educating, and healing through movement. With more than fifteen years of experience in movement education and the marching arts, André has developed an extensive body of work across scholastic, collegiate, independent, and drum corps programming. His experience spans guard direction and instruction, movement education, choreography, visual development, and design, giving him a comprehensive understanding of how movement functions across the interconnected elements of the marching arts. His approach centers the development of technically grounded, expressive performers while bringing together dance training, theatricality, musicality, and embodied performance. Throughout his drum corps career, André has held roles including Movement Coordinator with The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps, Movement Specialist with Phantom Regiment, and Color Guard Movement Coordinator and Co-Guard Caption Head with Legends Drum & Bugle Corps.

His broader marching arts career includes leadership, design, choreography, and movement roles with numerous guard and marching band programs throughout the Midwest. As a certified Flexologist, André brings an additional focus on mobility, flexibility, body awareness, and sustainable movement practices to his work with performers. At the center of André's work is a commitment to developing the whole performer—building physical awareness, confidence, individuality, and a deeper understanding of how the body contributes to storytelling and visual design. Across both his pageantry and concert work, he continues to explore the intersection of movement, equipment, theatre, and human experience, challenging performers to move with greater intention, curiosity, and presence.
