Rick Reedy

Board Member
Alumni President

Rick Reedy

Rick became a member of the Crossmen Board of Directors in 2022 and has served as Co-coordinator of the Crossmen Alumni Association since the fall of 1997.

He is a two-time recipient of the Spirit of the Crossmen award and has been inducted into both the Crossmen Hall of Fame in 2006 and the 1975 Hall of Fame corps in 1999.

His drum corps journey began in 1968 with the American Legion Holts Hornets in Clifton Heights, PA, and he continued with the American Legion 507 Hornets until 1974, when the corps merged with Keystone Regiment to form the Crossmen. As a Charter Member, he marched as a timpanist in the corps' inaugural year and aged out in 1976. Following his aging out, Rick volunteered with the Crossmen for the 1977 season and served as a visual technician until the end of the 1983 season.

From 1984 to 1997, he and his wife Donna, also a Crossmen alumni, raised four children, three of whom aged out of the corps. During this period, Rick was active in coaching little league baseball and softball, leading a Cub Scout troop, and teaching in various high school band programs, including Wissahickon and Perkiomen Valley. Despite not being directly involved with the corps for 14 years, he maintained connections by attending numerous alumni reunions during the corps' visits to the Allentown regional.

After witnessing a standing ovation prior to the 1997 corps performing for the finals performance Rick went home with the drive to revitalize the Alumni Association in the fall. With the help of many throughout the years the Crossmen Alumni Association continues to support the World Class Corps.

Recently, he co-coordinated the 2024 Crossmen Alumni Corps, which performed their show "Bells" at Lucas Oil Stadium during the semi-finals. In which his wife Donna and their adult children Allie, Andrea, Ricky and Danielle all participated as marching members.

Rick retired from Exelon Energy in 2017 after a distinguished 43-year career that began as a meter reader, progressed through training as a steamfitter, and culminated as a maintenance valve planner in the Nuclear Division.

He initiated his involvement with bands as a visual technician at Wissahickon High School before moving to Perkiomen Valley, where he served as their drill writer. In 2000, Rick began his tenure with Owen J. Roberts High School Band program, serving as an assistant to the band director and fulfilling the role of Visual Tech until 2008. Throughout his time at Owen J., he took on several leadership positions, including President of the Music Parents Organization, Chairman of the annual Cavalcade band show and Chairman of the annual Indoor Winter Guard competition.

Rick is eager to maintain his involvement as a Board Member and aims to enhance alumni engagement to foster organizational growth, thereby ensuring that students have opportunities to develop not only their musical talents but also their leadership skills within their communities.
