Doug Stemet

Doug is a charter member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. He marched soprano bugle from the very first rehearsal in 1974 through 1977. Following his age-out from performing, Doug began his lifelong relationship with the corps as an alumni, starting as member of the brass staff in 1978. Since then he has served the corps in various positions, including Program and Staff coordinator, Visual Tech, Visual Designer, Tour Planner, Shuttle Driver and Kitchen Truck Volunteer (Breakfast Griddle Specialist). He is also active with the Crossmen Alumni Association as co-executive director with his wife Denita (BCG 82-83) on the CrossmenLive project. He is a 2016 inductee in the Crossmen Hall of Fame. Since moving to Kansas in 1983 he has continued with the marching arts, designing, teaching and judging marching bands throughout the region. He has also been active with local Wichita performing arts including; Wichita State University Shocker Sound Machine marching ensemble, Music Theatre for Young People, Friends of the Performing Arts of Wichita East High School, Wichita Chamber Chorale and the Kansas Ambassadors of Music European Tour. Doug has been a management professional for over 30 years. He has a BS in Music Education from West Chester State College, and an MBA from Wichita State University. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his family, wife Denita, daughters Chelsea (Crossmen Admin 13-18) and Nicole. Favorite destination - Ocean City, NJ. Doug is excited to be on the board to help Crossmen grow and continue to provide the life changing experience to its members that it provided to him.
