David Borland

David has been a high-tech leader during this career most recently as Director of Artificial Intelligence Acceleration at Amazon Web Services. He has a broad high-tech engineering and executive leadership background, including co-founding Calxeda, a high-tech start-up, and as Director of Engineering of Intel’s cellular phone team.  He continues to strive to add value through mentorship activities in high-tech and performing arts.

 

David aspires to “pay it forward” to musical performance education programs that develop strong life skills, as they set the foundation that his professional and personal success is built on. He is a trombone player in 3 bands/orchestras and a DCI Diamond Friend with 40 years of consecutive Finals attendance. Additionally, he volunteers with the Westlake High School Band (Austin) and works with the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) on their music education advocacy efforts.

 

David is Board Chair of the Alliance to Cure Cavernous Malformations whose mission is to drive a cure and improve lives for all affected by cavernous malformation.


He lives in Austin, Texas, is married to a color guard instructor, and has a son who is a Purdue grad and software engineer for Amazon Devices as well as plays trumpet in 2 Austin area bands. 

 

David is super excited to be working with Crossmen Productions to create life-changing experiences that teach excellence, perseverance, teamwork, and character.
