Jonathan Virtue

Jon Virtue holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. During his schooling, Jon had the privilege of studying lead and classical trumpet under the tutelage of Matt Gallagher (Principal trumpet, Philly Pops 2009-present) and Frank Kaderabek (Principal trumpet, Phila. Orchestra 1975-1995), while also performing and recording with the historic Criterions Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Matt Niess. With over 20 years of professional performing experience, Jon has toured the country and shared the stage with many world class artists including Billy Kilson, Allen Vizzutti, Randy Brecker, Gordon Goodwin, Ernie Watts, Wayne Bergeron, Brian Bromberg, Sal Lozano, John Swana, and many more. He was a member of the 2007 Disney All-American College Band in Anaheim, California, before spending four years on active duty touring with the United States Air Force band of Southeastern Virginia. Jon is excited to be joining the Crossmen brass staff, having previously performed as lead trumpet and soloist with the corps in their 2004 program “Unity."
