Holly Maldonado began her drum corps career in 2006 marching mellophone with SPIRIT from Jacksonville State University and then with Carolina Crown the following three years. In her final year with Crown, they received the Jim Ott High Brass award, a first for the organization. Holly also toured in Japan while performing with the 2008 Odyssey Brass Angels, an all female cast of brass, percussion and dancers. After marching and performing, Holly was a part of the drum corps teaching staff at Blue Stars 2011, Phantom Regiment 2012, Troopers 2010, 2014, 2015, and Crossmen 2016-present.

A horn player, Holly graduated from Columbus State University in Columbus, GA earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. While attending Columbus State she performed with the top ensembles including the Wind Ensemble and the Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Jamie Nix and Paul Hostetter. Holly’s teaching career includes two years of elementary music, four seasons of working with the Walton High School Marching Raider Band in Marietta, GA, and most recently, teaching at Kettering Fairmont High School and Van Buren Middle School in Kettering, Ohio.

Currently, Holly is the Associate Director of Bands at Woodland High School in Cartersville, GA.
