Andrew Young


Andrew Young is the Director of Bands at West-Oak High School in Westminster, South Carolina. Mr. Young holds a Bachelors degree in Music Education with a Performance Certificate in Euphonium from the University of South Carolina. During his time at Carolina, Mr. Young performed with the University's Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, and Marching Band. Andrew's drum corps experience began in 2012 as a member of the baritone section in the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. He then went on to march three seasons with the corps aging out in 2014. Andrew began his work with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2016.

His professional affiliations include the South Carolina Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, the International Tuba Euphonium Association, and the Palmetto State Teachers Association.

Andrew is an active freelance musician, and member of the Oconee Winds based out of Oconee County in South Carolina.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys various outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, trail running, mountain biking, and Obstacle Course Racing. He and his wife Amanda currently live in Pendleton, South Carolina
