Mike Hardiek Named Interim Director of Operations

SAN ANTONIO, TX – September 8, 2020 – Crossmen Productions is very proud to announce Mike Hardiek as the Interim Director of Operations. Additionally, he will hold the role as Interim Corps Director, making the member experience a priority. Mike will be key to assisting the executive team on developing organizational and fundraising strategy.

Mike Hardiek

Mike Hardiek has spent the last 34 years immersed in the pageantry arts. Mike began his drum corps career with the Toledo Glassmen where he served as the Visual Caption Head as they climbed from 23rd place to ultimately becoming a perennial finalist corps. Mike previously served the members of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps as a staff member from 2014-2016 and is excited to be back in San Antonio.

In the winter Mike was the director and visual designer for the Plan “B” percussion Ensemble, a 3-time WGI Percussion Medalist. He has spent his fall seasons writing for multiple ensembles all over the country from Florida to Nevada. Most notably, he has spent 30 years with the Homestead Spartan Alliance Marching Band in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Spartan Alliance has won 7 Indiana State Championships and has been a BOA finalist 5 times over.

Away from football fields and gymnasiums, Mike is committed to his work with non-profit organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors for many causes both locally and nationally. The Shriners Children’s Hospitals hold a special place in his heart, and he works tirelessly to raise money and awareness for its cause.

Over the years, Mike has specialized in creating a strong volunteer education program as well as brand awareness. He believes his combination of pageantry experience combined with his nonprofit experience makes him uniquely qualified to appreciate both sides.

"I am honored to be back with the Crossmen,” said Hardiek “I am committed to providing the membership with world class experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere."
"When Mike accepted our offer to dive into the Crossmen Drum Corps world, we were beyond excited” said Chief Executive Officer, Natalie Steele. “His experiences within the marching arts and the Crossmen, along with his work in the nonprofit world, make Mike completely prepared to step into the role of interim operations and corps director. We’re excited for the momentum that the Crossmen will see from Mike as one of many new additions you will see in 2021."

For the next few months, this “quiet” time will be crucial to forward progress for Crossmen Productions. Mike will work closely with Crossmen Administration, Educational Staff and most importantly, the members to bridge our today through 2021. He will be integral to strategic development for the organization. With his energy and commitment to excellence, we are confident we will reach and succeed our objectives!
