Stephen Jones
A native of Thibodaux Louisiana, Stephen Jones began his drum corps career in 1984 as a contra bass player with the Bayonne Bridgemen. For the next five years, he marched with the Star of Indiana. While at Star, he was twice named the DCI Contra Bass champion in 1988 and 1989. Stephen began teaching drum corps as a staff member with the Crossmen in 1990. He also taught the Bones in 1991 and 1998. His instructing experience also includes teaching Brass Theater, Phantom Regiment, Troopers, Blue Knights, Colts and the Kilties. His additional accomplishments outside of drum corps include performing with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, The Six Flags-Great America Marching Band and graduating from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance.Stephen also had the distinct honor of performing as an original cast member the Emmy and Tony award winning production of Blast! at London’s West End in 2000.
