Joel Moody - Assistant Corps Director, Staff Coordinator

Joel Moody is currently the Assistant Corps Director for the San Antonio, Texas-based Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Prior to joining the Crossmen, Mr. Moody completed the Master of Public Administration degree with a focus on nonprofit management from Florida State University (2014). In addition, he is an accomplished music educator and band director, having taught in the Florida public schools for seven years.

Mr. Moody earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Florida State University (2001) as well as a Master of Music degree in Music and Human Learning from the University of Texas at Austin (2007). He also completed some coursework towards a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Instrumental Conducting from the University of Miami (Florida). While attending the University of Texas and the University of Miami, Mr. Moody was a teaching assistant for the University Bands as well as an instructor for undergraduate conducting.

As an educator, Joel Moody served as the Director of Bands (2007-2010) as well as the Associate Director of Bands (2002-2005) at Winter Park High School, a Central Florida public school. He was responsible for all components of the program and served as Chairman of the Performing Arts Department. His work earned him recognition from district and state administrators for his excellence in music education and teaching.
