WHAT? At the end of the summer, interns will have a global understanding of what it takes to run a World Class Drum Corps. In order for our interns to gain a wide range of experience and knowledge, they will work in many areas beyond their specialty.
Standard Crossmen positions include:
- Marketing & Communications Intern - Will be involved in multiple projects involving social media, e-newsletters, and marketing merchandise. Graphic design knowledge is a plus.
- Culinary Intern - This intern will work closely with our Food Manager and will learn everything there is to learn about managing food service for 200+. From food orders to food service this is an excellent resume builder.
- Corps Logistics & Planning Intern - These interns will work closely with the Tour Director and play an integral role in getting the corps down the road.
- Creative Arts Intern - This intern will work closely with the administration and will be responsible for completing small projects involving our YouTube channel, the DCI FanNetwork, and our website.
All positions will work closely with the Director, Assistant Director, and Tour Director while on tour.
WHEN? The Crossmen Summer Internship program is a full-time internship. Interns will begin work mid-May and it will last until mid-August, at the end of our Championship week in Indianapolis, Indiana. Beginning and end times are flexible based on your schedule.
WHERE? Internships are currently available for the Crossmen Drum Corps, which is a national touring ensemble. We are based out of San Antonio, TX, but if you are selected for the position you would need to be able to travel with us throughout the summer.
COMPENSATION? Depending on your institution you may be eligible to receive college credit. All interns will get four meals a day while on tour, free travel on our coaches, and admission to DCI and Crossmen related events.
HOW DO I APPLY? Fill out an Internship Application and e-mail it along with your resume to Joseph Banegas at Joe@Crossmen.org
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed at the beginning of every month. Applicants will be notified when their application has been received and after it has been reviewed. Intern applicants may be subject to a phone interview as part of the selection process.
