2013 Crossmen Protest Tour
Day 43, Thursday, July 25th
Rehearsal Day- Bauxite HS
Housing- Bauxite HS, Bauxite, AR
The Bauxite Miner Field Entrance. Thanks for your generous hospitality Miner Band!Rehearsal was followed by breakfast. The conditions are again very pleasant. This is great for the morale as the conditions aren't as energy draining as the 100 degree days we faced in Texas. We accomplished a lot. Some new body and music adjustments are added today and the corps is improving with every rep.
Eddie and I use the time during rehearsal to install the new Crossmen logos on the guard bus that we cut in vinyl when we were home for the couple of days for the San Antonio Regional. With Eddie's help we were able to knock it out in less than half of the time it would normally take for me by myself. He is ready to take this job on his own next time.
EPL after ensemble, load the trucks and buses and hit to road for Alabama. The life of a Crossmen is getting to be normal. It is hard to believe that we are close to the end. Twenty days and counting. Treasure every moment 2013 Crossmen. We will never travel this way together again as the same exact group of teammates. This is our only journey together because starting in November we will mix it up all over again. Some old, some new and some that took a year or two off only to be in the mix for our next adventure. The personalities of each corps are different every year.
Nearly 400 miles to go tonight till we get to our next housing site in Ardmore, AL. Some interstate but mostly 4 lane US Highway. It will be hilly and a little rough but all worthwhile adventures are.
Eddie the sign installer applying the new Crossmen logo on the guard bus.
