2013 Crossmen Protest Tour
Day 20 - Wednesday, July 3rd We woke up to a fine drizzle and overcast skies in the small farm community of Grafton. It was pretty cold. After breakfast the wet stuff started to pick up. After everyone moved inside to rehearse it started to pour. It didn't slow down for a couple of hours. By ensemble time it stopped but the fields were under water. We resorted to ensemble as a standstill in the parking lot so the entire day turned into an easy paced rehearsal. We packed up and headed to Cedarburg and things started to dry out a little. After warm ups though the fog started to rolling off Lake Superior and the temperature started winding its way down. Our performance was a good one and the crowd applauded with their approval many times during the show. The stadium lights and the fog created a spooky feel. After all of the corps performed the hornlines from Blue Stars, Spirit, Crossmen and Madison Scouts performed America the Beautiful for the spectators. After snack and packing up the gear we headed for our housing in Chicago in preparation for three parades tomorrow. We are expected to get in around midnight and wake up at 5:15 for a full day of Americana!
