Today is very pleasant weather wise. It is comfortable. The morning starts with PT then breakfast. Everyone is in great spirits. We finish the morning block and are aware of some clouds and a storm building. It looks like we will be moving inside after lunch for a time until the rain moves on. The storm strikes and everyone runs to their rain contingency spot. The pit has all of their gear under cover in time. We lost about 30 minutes after lunch but the rest of the day is cooler and clear. Former Crossmen brass arranger, instructor (1975, 76, 77, 86, 89) and business manager (1988) has been with us the last couple of days giving us the benefit of his 40 plus years of experience in the activity. He has challenged the hornline to have that Crossmen nasty swagger that the Crossmen are known for. I think that a fresh set of ears and voice is just what the doctor ordered. Mike loves this corps and the members have gained a real sense of that by his presence here. Mike will be with us until Saturday night. We are grateful to him for his donation of time and experience.
We have made some serious progress this last couple of days and the fact that the corps and staff is well rested can only enhance our progress. Allentown is shaping up to be a real battle that will set up the final week of the season. The push to DCI's 40th Championships is here. The Crossmen are in the hunt. We can't wait to see the outcome of tomorrow night's performance. Sleep well Crossmen! We need our best effort!
