Fragile Tour Blog - 2012 Crossmen presented by Gotta Go Trailways.com
We make the 7 hour trip to Odessa in fine form. Still traveling with smooth sailing. The team of Crossmen drivers are really great. They work together and handle the roughness of the road with class. The tour this summer has had more than its fair share of long drives. I don't ever hear a complaint from any of our drivers. They are true pros. They unselfishly focus on what is important. The safety and well being of their precious cargo. You can tell that they have gotten the drum corps bug. Chris, AKA "Cool Breeze" has hundreds of photos of "his kids" on the brass bus that he has taken on his cell phone. You can see the pride he has about them when he shows you the pictures he has taken of his guys and gals. Chris is a gentle soft spoken gentleman that never seems to get bothered by anything that comes his way. His temperment is like a lake that is smooth as glass. I started calling him "Cool Breeze" due to his refreshing nature. Thank you for being a true gentleman Chris.
The day in Odessa was unseasonably cool. Living in Texas you know the heat you would expect in the Odessa desert in July. We had the blessing of some cloud cover most of the day and it was very pleasant much to our surprise. It enabled us to get in some good rehearsal time.
The show in Odessa was somewhat of a marathon with nine corps in attendance. The crowd gave us a warm West Texas welcome and the Crossmen threw down for them in appreciation. After snack and the load up we are on our way to Southlake.
