Fragile Tour Blog - 2012 Crossmen presented by Gotta Go Trailways.com
Sunday morning was a busy one for the admin team and the corps. Up at 7:30 and on their way to the Alamodome by 9:00. The focus for today is to support the Crossmen members that elected to perform at DCI's Individual and Ensemble Competitions at Sunset Station near the stadium.
Last summer we elected to not participate due to the fact that we conducted a clinic at Angelo State University in San Angelo on the Sunday following the DCI SW Regional. This year we did not have that committment. Our groups and individuals that found the time to practice and get their normal Crossmen duties accomplished faired very well. The Crossmen Cymbal Ensemble did very well by finishing second to Spirit with a score of 90. Crossmen Baritone, Will Jurgens, finished 2nd on trombone with a score of 96.0. Crossmen Drum Major, Hunter Bown, won the solo vocalist category with a score of 93.60.
After the I&E competitions the corps was able to spend time at the Riverwalk and in and around downtown San Antonio. With 25 members from San Antonio and 100 from all over Texas I am sure that they were able to see their families also. We loaded up and headed foe Odessa thet evening. Overall we had a great rejuvinating few days at home. It is hard to believe that in two weeks our journey together will be over. We have a lot of work to do in the quest of our goal. We have to be fully engaged in order to achieve it. It is a great feeling to be in the mix at this point in the season. Now we must devote ourselves to grabbing the prize. We feel that we have the will and the group to make thais happen. Other teams are going through the same process. It is shaping up to be quite a battle!
