Fragile Tour Blog-2012 Crossmen presented by Gotta Go

Our 225 mile trip to the Delone Catholic HS housing site in Chambersburg, PA went pretty smoothly. We arrived in the expected window and everyone got situated as planned. As Erik and I returned from mass the beehive of activity that is drum corps was evident and in full swing. The conditions are similar to what we left behind in Jackson, NJ. Hot, humid and nasty is the order of the day. Rehearsal went smoothly and passed quickly. We loaded up and headed to the show in good spirits after a great run through.

We received a great response from the crowd again tonight with many on their feet at the conclusion. A concerning complication at the beginning was that Jennah in the front ensemble was not feeling well as we pushed on to the field. She came over to us on the front sideline and someone handed us a few bottles of cold water for her to drink and put on the back of her neck and forehead.  A couple of paramedics came over with a stretcher and Jennah was quick to say, "I don't need a stretcher!" and she laughed nervously. I of course made her laugh some more by documenting her on the stretcher in a photo with a bottle of water stuck to her forehead. Jennah is smiling in the photo of course. When it came time to perform, she convinced the medics to let her go on and they promised to stay close by. She is our tiger said Buck from the pit and nothing seems to stop her. After the performance she went with the medics to make sure all was well.

After we performed, I was happy to see my friends from high school and college days, Glen and Tammy Sides in the stands. They were both impressed with this year's progress over the last few and promised to make the trip to Indianapolis if we are in the finals hunt when the time comes. Lots of alumni were in attendance. Charlotte Robinson, the original Crossmen Mom , brought tons of cookies for cookie salad for snack. It was great to see the Brenneke's, Denesowicz's and Williams's. All very proud of this year's crop of Crossmen. After snack and a break hanging out in the lot the convoy headed to our next destination in Delta, OH.
