Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 37-Southlake Carroll HS - Lake Highlands, TX Show Day

Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 37
Monday, July 25th- Southlake Carroll HS, Southlake, TX- Lake Highlands Show Day

Southlake is like "deja vous" all over again! Crossmen spent our first night on the road away from San Antonio 36 days ago at Southlake Carroll in preparation for the first annual Toll Brothers Southlake on the Square Crossmen event. It seems like a lifetime ago in some ways as we have put close to 10,000 miles under our belts by now. This group of individuals has become a well built, close knit team on all levels. The membership and their leaders have grown as a unit. The staff has become closer each day. You can see how they have started to read each others minds and finish each others sentences a little due to all of the time they have spent together polishing and improving our product. The occasional setback on the scoreboard has raised their intensity not diminshed it. They are more determined than ever. As people come in and out of tour, the fresh ones pick up the staff that has been on for most if not all of the duration. Ed Devlin has been with us for a few days now and his presence is felt on multiple visual and musical levels. He is a master of his craft. John Leonard is back after a few days off from the guard with batteries fully charged and guns blazing! Our admin team is humming like a machine on autopilot. The drivers are working together like brothers. They may have a couple of disagreements along the way but don't dare mess with one of them or you will face the wrath of all of them, as a good thing! This is usually when fatigue starts to set in for everybody but our team is focused and positive!.

The show tonight begins with the words of DCI announcer Dan Potter, "Welcome Texas's only World Class Drum Corps, the Crossmen!". The crowd jumps to their feet and welcomes their team! Great reception! The members are treated to another standing ovation by a very appreciative crowd! The music magic is working!

At intermission Dan interviews Crossmen Program Coordinator, Jamie Alvarez-Calderon and second generation 8 year Crossmen colorguard ageout member,  Leighanne Fields. Check out the interview at the link

On to the scene of the battle of Vicksburg!
