Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 36-Madison HS, Regional Day-San Antonio, TX

Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 36
Saturday, July 23th- San Antonio Homecoming Madison HS, San Antonio, TX- Alamodome Regional Show Day

We arrive at Madison HS @6:am. Maureen drops by and picks me up so that we can take care of a few errands and my laundry before coming back to Madison to lead the convoy to the Alamodome. Madison HS band directors Darryl, Mike and Phil always make us feel at home here. We conduct two or three of our winter camps at their school and the directors and administration are very supportive. Thanks guys!

The rehearsal day is short due to our long Odessa drive the night before and the 5 pm step off for the regional. Though it is 100 outside we know the 72 degree environment of the dome will make for a high energy performance. The crowd is ready for the return of the Crossmen. No sooner does the corps exit the tunnel and the crowd erupts for the hometeam! Bones is in the back grandstands as a further energy booster for the Crosmen. I don't think that I have ever heard a crowd as loud as this in the dome. The perfomance was the best to date. The crowd was electric. There were signs and banners of encouragement throughout the audience. Applause after after applause throughout the performance. And an extended standing ovation at its conclusion! What a homecoming welcome! After the performance there were many tears of joy after aussies off!

Crossmen have the good fortune of having two homes on tour. This years Alamodome show has thrown the gauntlet challenging our reception in Allentown in a couple of weeks. Nothing like having two regional venues as home shows for our corps.

We depart for San Angelo around midnight. Our Texas members get an extended visit with family that attended the event prior to departure for our clinic at Angelo State University.
