Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 33-Coweta HS, Broken Arrow Show Day
Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 33
Wednesday, July 20th- Coweta HS, Broken Arrow- Show Day
We can tell that we are getting closer to our Texas home. The temperatures are over 100 but the humidity is less that 30%. Even though it is hot, the breeze and occasional passing cloud make it bearable. Rehearsal blocks go as planned. Everyone is encouraged to consume plenty of liquids to make up for the intense heat. Our Coweta HS housing site is a great place for us to rehearse. We can't thank the schools and administrations enough for allowing drum corps and specifically the Crossmen use their facilities in order to carry out our non-profit mission. Drum Corps would not happen with out facilities.
We have a few members and alumni from the Broken Arrow area so tonight has a bit of a homecoming feel. There is a nice sized crowd in spite of the souring temps. The tall stands shade the crowd and most of the field by the time we perform. The crowd is crazy for the Crossmen and we receive multiple rounds of applause and a standing ovation at the conclusion. I am so thrilled with our music this summer. It brings the emotion every night. I receive messages every day from folks that have seen us the night before. They each talk about how much they enjoy our show and most times pick that special moment that touched their heart. The ballad gets the most e-mails but some are thrilled with the entire music book. I received a message from a young lady, after Broken Arrow, that said that Hallelujah brought her to tears and that she wished she could see our show again. I shared her note of encouragement with the brassline.Thank you Leah. Mission accomplished in the music audience engagement department.
On to Seymour HS for a rehearsal day with our friend Scooter Miller and the Seymour Panther Band!
