Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 31
Monday, July 18th- Olathe South HS, Kansas City, Kansas- Show Day
The best site for sore eyes was seeing the food crew getting after breakfast as I made my exit from The Command Center this morning. I am sure that there is an entertaining story to go along with the miracle adventure. Our contingency plans for breakfast get to stay in our pocket for now, thank goodness!
I see Evan first thing and he looked like he hadn't slept but was hard at it helping Jeff and the volunteers get the meal ready.
You can tell this is going to be a hot one with high humidity today. The rehearsal was done in some of the most oppressive conditions we have exerienced yet. You can't drink enough water on a day like this! We even split the run through for a water break in order to conserve energy. We load and head to the stadium.
The performance tonight was a little sluggish. The crowd wasn't as responsive as they have been each and every night since the start of tour. I think that everyone including the crowd was suffering from the high humidity and temps. The reported heat index warning was over 110 during the day. That sucks the energy out of you just standing still! We load up and head for Wichita, Kansas. It will be a chance to see our friends and Crossmen alums the Stemets.
