Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 18
Tuesday, July 5th Taconic High School, Pittsfield, MA -Rehearsal Day
We can't thank our hosts from Pittsfield enough. Mike, the administration for Taconic HS and the town of Pittsfield have won our hearts. When we needed a place to stay after Bristol not only did they say yes they rolled out the red carpet. Our friend Mike has helped us with many logistical needs and errands. Mike is a very interesting guy and I get to spend a few minutes learning about his involvement in the VFW management. His trips to Vietnam on mercy missions and his love for the people there. Mike is a Vietnam Vet that is walking the walk of healing the relationship with the US and Vietnamese. He and his former comrades in arms are helping the children there by fundraising for facilities for the blind and helping people learn the english language.
We enjoy a very pleasant productive rehearsal day today. The weather continues to amaze us with cool dry conditions. I think we may be getting a little spoiled! Tom Acheson continues to tune us up and his magic is obvious. The visual progress the corps is making is astounding. The three "T"'s of Tom Acheson, Terry Pritchard and Tommy Williams and staff are hitting it out of the park with our visual program.
Shortly after dark we EPL (Eat, Pack and Load) and head for Brick Township HS in New Jersey. The members are going to get to sleep till 10 am. A big cheer goes out in the meeting prior to departure after Assistant Corps Director, Joe Banegas, delivers the good news.Oh the simple pleasures in life like sleeping in.
