Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 16
Sunday, July 3rd Mount Hope High School, Bristol, RI -Show Day- Bristol
Our stay at Mount Hope is very familiar. We have stayed here each of the five years of tour since the move to Texas. The custodians know us by name. The rehearsal went pretty well under overcast skies until we were in the last hour of ensemble. The rain came down. We left the field for 15 minutes. The weather slowed to a drizzle. Back onto the field we go for the last 45 minutes and the run. The run goes well in spite of the moisture. We eat and dress for the show. Warm up goes according to plan. Crosmen approach the gate to a slight drizzle. No delay here. The pit sets up and here we go! The crowd is loviing the music. Applause through out the performance. The striking thing for Ed Devlin and me was the fact that the sun peaked out with a beautiful sunset during Hallelujiah giving us clearing skies. As I pass announcer Paul Cain I tell him we made the sun shine!. Paul relayed the message to the audience and followed it by saying, "Yes you did Crossmen. Yes you did. You made the sun come out."
We settle for snack and lights out after the show. Some staff and some admin make the traditional Lobster Pot" visit. Thanks to Mike for taking us in the staff bus.Big parade day tomorrow!
