Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 10
Bridgeport, CT Show Day
Sally and Annie Love Crossmen! We are at a georgous new school in Ansonia, CT. Rehearsal goes according to plan. We have additional logistical concerns as the main field is a long hike from the school. We haul the pit from the high school to the lower field and the rest of the corps enjoys the walk over the river and theough the woods as we fondly refer to it. Jaime and joe build in additional travel time and things go according to plan. We head for the stadium afer another early departure. This class of Crossmen has their act together! I am continually amazed at their ability to be ready to go no matter the circumstances thrown their way.
After a short ride to the stadium in Bridgeport we do the normal warm up dance. The stadium is a tall concrete structure that should give the staff a great opportunity to record the performance for future viewing.
The corps does another great job of entertaining and the crowd shows their appreciation with multiple ovations. I am convinced that we have achieved our primary objective of engaging the audience. The alumni we encounter express their love of the music and the corps ability to impart the emotion. We are receiving daily emails talking about how happy the audience members are and how emotional the performances are. It is very moving.
After critique and retreat we head for New York!
