Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" day 5-Show Day Fairfield, OH
One of the happiest times of every tour is when the new members and staff receive their cross after the first DCI competition of the season. Crossmen snare, Takuma Kawahara from Tokyo, Japan is all smiles this morning
2011 Crossmen Tour 37 Day 5- Wednesday, June 22 nd-Fairfield Show Day
A short 120 mile cruise to our housing site blows by in no time. We arrive at Mt. Healthy HS in the expected time. The members enjoy the 6 plus hours on the floor. The Mt Healthy HS is 6 months old and we are treated very well by the administration and staff. We cannot thank our hosts enough for the special treatment and the friendly reception at a great facility.
Another productive couple of rehearsal blocks prepare the corps for tonight’s show. The EPL is on autopilot. Great work Crossmen! A short ride to the stadium yields an early arrival. Last summer we stayed at the show site for this event so we know our way around. We are rain delayed by 30 minutes for the second night in a row. The difference this time is that after loading the truck the skies open up. It is pouring! Event cancelled! Too bad as we would have preferred that all of the corps had an opportunity to perform. Maybe tomorrow night will go better. Our departure is within minutes of the original plan even with the weather delay. On deck is a 5 hour trip to the Pittsburg area for another show day.
