Crossmen Tour 37 "renewal" Day 3- Collierville, TN
2011 Crossmen Tour 37 Day 3- Monday, June 20th
The drive from Southlake to the Memphis area was a 450 mile trek. We arrive at Collierville, HS in Collierville, TN in the projected time. The guard bus needed a tire replaced before it could leave the Dallas area so the Mobile Command Center and Arthur’s Wynne Motorcoach stayed behind until the tire was changed. The rest of the convoy left on time and made its way together. This is one of the 4 longest rides scheduled for the summer. We are making our way to our first DCI show site in Indianapolis. Collierville is the midpoint. Nine hours on the road for the second ride of the summer is a test that the Crossmen pass with flying colors. I can tell already that this group is one of the best Crossmen teams we have seen as far as adapting to the tour rituals. The corps leadership and membership are prepared to do the right thing at all times. They have adapted to life on the road and the daily movement as if it is normal in the second day. I am amazed. This process has taken up to a week in the past. Cleaning the facilities, loading the equipment and on the bus ready to leave on time in the first days is something to be proud of. You never know how these first days will go as each year each group has its own personality. I am really proud of the corps and staff. We are off to a great start.
We rehearsed all day at Collierville the home of the Dragons. Special thanks go out to our hosts. This is a top notch facility and we are well taken care of. The corps made big strides today. Time to pack up and head to Indianapolis!
