Timothy Sexton - Visual Technician

Mr. Tim Sexton is in his second year as the Assistant Director of Bands at Sonoraville High School, also serving as Director of Bands at Red Bud Middle School in Calhoun, GA. Mr. Sexton was raised outside of Gadsden, Alabama and attended Hokes Bluff High School in Etowah County. After graduation, Mr. Sexton attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama where he completed his undergraduate degree in Music Education in May 2014. He received special honors in the field of music during his undergraduate studies. 

During his time at Jacksonville State University, Mr. Sexton served as the principal trumpet for the University’s Jazz I Ensemble, Chamber Winds, and nationally acclaimed pep band – Hardcorps.  Upon completing the degree, yet before commencement, he began his first tour as a professional performer with the cast of Blast! - Blast! Received Tony & Emmy award-winning recognition for “Best Special Theatrical Event” & “Best Choreography” respectively in 2001.  Mr. Sexton completed his tour of Japan with Blast! brass theatre in October 2014.

Mr. Sexton is also highly active as an educator in the marching arts within different facets. He previously taught with the visual staff of The Madison Scouts from 2013 to 2016. Tim also recently served as the Assistant Brass Caption Head for Atlanta CV after completing his second year with their staff in 2016. Prior to these educational opportunities, he performed lead trumpet for Carolina Crown in 2010 & 2011, later aging out as the soloist for Spirit of Atlanta in 2012. Mr. Sexton is highly sought as a visual clinician around the metro Atlanta area.
