Samuel Wright - Percussion Instruction

Sam is from Greenwood, Indiana, where he attends IUPUI. He will graduate from IUPUI in December 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Tourism Management.

Sam has had the pleasure of working with multiple drumlines in Indianapolis. Sam primarily works with the Center Grove High School Drumline as a battery tech, but has also had the pleasure of working with the Carmel High School Drumline since 2014. In addition, Sam spent the summer of 2018 teaching the Shadow DBC quadline and spent the winter of 2019 teaching the Cap City Percussion quadline.

Sam began studying piano and rudimental percussion at the age of 11. His first year in a marching ensemble was with Center Grove High School in 2010. During his time at Center Grove, he had the opportunity to perform at BOA Grand National Finals, WGI PSW Finals, the 2010 Midwest Clinic, PASIC 2012, and the World Renown Indy 500 Parade.

After graduating from Center Grove, Sam went on to march with Jersey Surf in 2014, Madison Scouts in 2015, and the Blue Stars in 2016 and 2017. In the winter, Sam marched with Redline Percussion in 2015, and Rhythm X 2016, 2017, and 2018.  During his years of experience in the marching arts, Sam has had the privilege to learn from instructors such as Eric Shriver, Tim Jackson, Josh Torres, Adam Norris, Mike Tant, Thomas Claesen, Greg Power, Ryan Anderson, Jeff Queen, and James Sparling.

Sam is excited to get to work with the 2019 Crossmen!
