Crossmen Signature Educational Series The Crossmen Drum Corps provides a wide range of events and opportunities for musicians to partake in an educational experience like no other. We recently wrapped up a very successful Drum Major Experience Camp and are proud to introduce another event in our Signature Educational Series!
Trumpet & Tuba/Euphonium Symposium & Masterclasses During our March camp we will be offering a one day brass clinic. Musicians who sign up to participate are able to enjoy a full master class taught by our featured clinicians. For more information, please email Joel Moody at Joel.Moody@Crossmen.org
Featured Clinician: Francis Franqui
SPC Francis Franqui is currently a Senior Musician with the Army 1st Calvary Division Band in Ft. Hood, TX.Originally from Orlando, Florida, he has performed with the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Southwest Florida Symphony, Brass Band of Central Florida, and the Walt Disney World Collegiate Music Program. From 2001-2005, SPC Franqui was a featured cast member with the Tony and Emmy winning Broadway show “Blast!” performing as a lead trumpet player all over the United States, Canada, and Japan. Prior to joining the Army Band, he was the Director of Bands at Winter Park High School where the programs under his leadership earned distinguished awards in the state of Florida, Southeast Region and National Concert Festivals.
Featured Clinician: Bill Muter
Bill Muter is an active performer, author, clinician and arts advocate. With a performance background as diverse as his audience, Bill maintains a schedule of over two hundred public performances a year in venues across North America, South Korea, Japan, Haiti and more. Bill currently performs as a tuba soloist and with his band "The Sharp Shooters." His solo album "Off Script" has labeled him a new driving force in the avant-garde and instrumental music scene. Off Script has been featured in the New Times, Italy's National Radio Station Rai Radio Tre, JazzCorner, MTV, and more. Bill also toured for five years with the Tony and Emmy winning Broadway Show "Blast!" as a tuba soloist, "yellow tutu guy," and percussionist.
As a highly sought after clinician, Bill's teaching has been seen at numerous universities and music organizations across the globe. Bill is currently the Adjunct Music Curriculum Advisor at Honeyland College in Lagos, Nigeria and is a member of the Florida Atlantic University Artist in Residence "Rattette." Bill is also involved in the pageantry arts and works with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps and the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. For more information please visit billmuter.net.
