Bill Redd - Brass Instruction

Bill Redd is the Assistant Director of Bands at the Moon Area School District (Moon Township, PA) where he also coordinates the brass and visual technique programs. Bill is a 2014 graduate of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor’s of Music Degree in K-12 Music Education. His principal trumpet teachers at Slippery Rock University were Dr. Stephen Hawk and Mr. Joe Herndon.

Bill is an active teacher and clinician across the country. He has taught both indoor and outdoor ensembles including: The Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps (Denver, CO); Rhythm X Winds (Dayton, OH); Norwin Marching Band; Kiski Area Marching Band; Mars Area Marching Band; the General Butler Vagabonds Drum and Bugle Corps; Slippery Rock University Winterguard; and North Allegheny Indoor Percussion. He is also the visual designer for Mars Indoor Percussion.

Bill is a freelance trumpeter in the Pittsburgh Area. He also performs as a member of the Allegheny Brass Band. In 2010 Bill and three friends founded Redemption trumpet quartet, which is active in performance and chamber brass clinics at schools throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania. He has performed as a member of the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps and has won a WGI World Championship with Rhythm X Winds as a featured soloist.

Bill is excited to be joining the Crossmen this summer.
