Alex Szabo - Visual Instruction

Alex Szabo is from Cedar Park, TX where he attended Cedar Park High School. After graduating in 2010, he went on to pursue a degree in Trumpet Performance from Texas State University. During his time at Texas State, Alex performed with the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Trumpet Ensemble, and was section leader of the Bobcat Marching Band for two years. Alex studied trumpet under Dr. Keith Winking and Dr. Robert Cannon during this time. Outside of school, Alex spent the summers of 2010 through 2014 as a member of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps mellophone section, three of which he was on the corps leadership team. During his time with Crown, the corps won three Jim Ott High Brass Awards, two John Brazale High Visual Awards, a Don Angelica High General Effect Award, and the corps’ first-ever DCI World Championship in 2013. Alex has instructed several programs across the country including the James Bowie High School Outdoor Performance Ensemble, the Tulane University Marching Band, Fred J Miller Summer Clinics, and the inaugural season of Violet Crown Independent, and served as Assistant Visual Caption Head of the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. Alex is currently a trumpet private lesson instructor in Leander and Pflugerville ISDs, and a marching technician for the Weiss High School Marching Band.
